House insulation costs — materials and labour 2026

· Paweł Wójtowicz

Insulating a house is a key element in retaining heat and lowering heating bills. Many people wonder about the costs involved in this undertaking. Below we present current information on material and labour prices.

Material prices

After the crisis that significantly affected polystyrene prices, we are now seeing them fall. The prices of various types of polystyrene are as follows:

  • Graphite polystyrene: the price per m³ ranges from PLN 241 to PLN 293, depending on brand and parameters.
  • White polystyrene: the price per m³ is about PLN 233 to PLN 248.40.

Labour costs

Choosing the crew to insulate the house is important, as it affects the quality and appearance of the finish. Labour prices can vary depending on the experience and reputation of the company. Prices currently range from PLN 50 to PLN 130 per m².

Example insulation costs

Insulating a house with 20 cm of polystyrene can cost:

  • For graphite polystyrene: about PLN 45–54/m².
  • For white polystyrene: about PLN 43–50/m².

Adding labour costs (PLN 50–130/m²), the total cost of material and labour can range from PLN 88 to PLN 184/m². Remember also about additional costs such as adhesive and reinforcing mesh.

Summary

Insulating a house is an investment that can bring significant savings in the future. When choosing materials and a contractor, it is worth paying attention not only to the price but also to quality. Lower material prices can be an incentive to carry out a thermal upgrade before winter.
